About me
Amanda lives in Denton, TX with her child and their grumpy dog. After a career in education and social services, she experienced a period of homelessness with her spouse after domestic violence from a member of the household. She had been active in service to the community prior to that but didn’t have lived experience in the daunting world of homelessness until then.
She’s both a professional in and recipient of local services for families in need. Her primary focus is intervention for those headed toward homelessness. Her day job is in roofing, and she loves all things related to town making and community, child development, neurodiversity, religion, and cooking.
